Organically Grown Company Taps Brenna Davis as Chief Executive Officer; Carla Balen Comments
PORTLAND, OR - An ideal Chief is a thought-leader, a problem-solver, an industry expert, and so much more. Organically Grown Company (OGC) is looking to elevate its standing as a wholesaler and marketer of certified organic produce with the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer who holds all of these qualities, as the company recently named Brenna Davis its new Chief Executive Officer.
“I am honored to be joining an organization with a strong focus on caring for people and the planet,” said Davis. “I have long admired OGC’s trust-owned business model, as well as their decades-long dedication to organic food systems and the well-being of organic farmers. “
Davis most recently served as Vice President of Social and Environmental Responsibility and Communications at PCC Community Markets in Seattle. According to a press release, she has over two decades of leadership expertise spanning multiple business sectors, having held positions at Virginia Mason Health System and Puget Sound Energy. In addition, Davis is a Certified Human Potential Institute coach with a proven track record of developing diverse and high-performing teams.
As noted in the release, Davis will take on the leadership of the company in partnership with OGC’s Mission Team on February 28, 2022.
“OGC’s Board and Mission Team are confident that Brenna is the right person to build on our momentum,” said Carla Balen, OGC’s Head of People. “She is deeply committed to organic agriculture and climate leadership and brings significant experience working in the natural foods channel and with companies focused on economic, social, and environmental responsibility.”
Organically Grown Company includes its wholly owned subsidiary Alternative Ownership Advisors, an advisory group launched in early 2020 to help mission-driven businesses pursue steward owner and finance models.
Congratulations to Brenna Davis for taking the helm as CEO!
