Berry Fresh's Laudan Chaffin Reflects on Organic Growth as OPS 2025 Approaches
LOS ANGELES, CA - Committed to increasing organic berry availability while aligning sustainable practices with organic production, Berry Fresh is focused on the future for Organic Produce Summit (OPS) and beyond.

“Our organic program is a core component of our growth strategy and continues to expand year over year. As consumers become more focused on sustainability, we’re investing in improving our practices and becoming better stewards of the environment. We’re proud of the work we’re doing and excited to share more at this year’s Organic Produce Summit,” Laudan Chaffin, Marketing Director for Berry Fresh, shared.
The company’s holistic approach, she shared, helps reinforce to consumers that Berry Fresh is not only delivering high-quality fruit, but also acting thoughtfully and responsibly as a grower. And its commitment has not slowed the company’s progress.
“Berry Fresh has experienced rapid growth over the past decade, which has required a culture of continuous improvement across our operations. From field to shelf, we are constantly refining our processes to ensure consistent quality, extended shelf-life, and reliable, on-time deliveries across our customer base,” Laudan said. “Our adaptable and forward-thinking supply chain is a key pillar of our service model.”

In collaborating with buyers and category managers to optimize opportunities for organic berries, Laudan shared that partnership are central to how Berry Fresh does business.
“Our sales and marketing teams are in constant communication with our customers, sharing real-time crop updates and working together to identify the best promotional opportunities,” she said. “We view our customers’ berry category performance as directly tied to our own success. Our goal is to help drive consumption across all berry types—and that starts with strong, collaborative relationships.”
Having implemented practices such as responsible water use and soil health management, Berry Fresh’s parent company and farming division, Agroberries, was awarded GlobalG.A.P. certifications as well as GlobalG.A.P.’s LEAF certification for Integrated Pest Management.

There are two key drivers to investment and innovation Berry Fresh touts to differentiate itself and its customers in the organic space.
“First, our holistic approach to organic farming—it’s not just about input compliance, but about long-term environmental stewardship. We are actively working to reduce our environmental footprint, which benefits our customers and their end consumers alike,” Laudan concluded. “Second is our investment in genetics. We actively participate in top proprietary breeding programs around the globe, constantly searching for and trialing varieties that deliver exceptional flavor. Our focus on premium, high-flavor genetics ensures our organic program remains competitive, distinctive, and in high demand.”
