WATSONVILLE, CA - At the Southeast Produce Council’s (SEPC) Southern Exposure event next month, California Giant Berry Farms will be showcasing its full line of fresh, premium berries, including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. With the show just around the corner, I got in touch with Tim Youmans, Vice President of Sales.

“We're particularly excited to highlight our new Giants label—our premium Giant Blueberries boast impressive size, 20mm or larger, and offer an exceptional eating experience. We'll also have information available about our year-round supply of high-quality berries,” he began telling me. “Our primary goal is to showcase the dedication that goes into every California Giant berry. We want to emphasize our commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation. We also aim to demonstrate our ability to meet the evolving needs of our customers with reliable supply and customized programs.”

The Giant Blueberries were made possible, in part, by California Giant’s state-of-the-art blueberry pack house in Santa Maria. The company’s Unitec sorting line allows it to meticulously sort for color, size, and other quality indicators, ensuring only the highest quality fruit makes it to customers.

“Jumbo blueberries are a rising star in the berry category, showing significant growth. Data indicates double-digit increases in both dollar sales and pounds compared to last year,” Tim stated. “We're eager to discuss how our jumbo blueberries can enhance your berry program!”
