Dollar General Promotes John Garratt to President in Addition to Chief Financial Officer Role; Jeff Owen Comments

AndNowUKnow has the answers, as the company recently announced the promotion of John Garratt to President alongside his current role as Chief Financial Officer, effective September 1, 2022.
As President and CFO, he will be responsible for the company’s strategic initiatives relating to healthcare and its international expansion to Mexico, as well as the oversight of the company’s finance, accounting, strategy, and procurement functions.
Garratt first joined Dollar General back in 2014, when he took on the role of Senior Vice President of Finance and Strategy, having served as Executive Vice President and CFO since December 2015, a press release noted.
Before bringing his expertise to Dollar General, Garratt occupied various positions of increasing responsibility at Yum! Brands from 2004 through 2014, including Vice President, Finance and Controller for KFC. Before that, he also served as Plant Controller for Alcoa, and he also spent three years with General Electric in various financial management roles.
Garratt holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Indiana University and an MBA in Finance and strategy from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
