Fresh Solutions Network® to Showcase A Cut Above® Potato Line at 2024 Foodservice Conference; Kathleen Triou and Bob Meek Share
NEWPORT BEACH, CA - Take a trip to any restaurant today, and there’s a high chance you will find potatoes on the plate. With consumers constantly exploring new ways to enjoy the staple produce offering, Fresh Solutions Network® (FSN) is helping foodservice operators tap into the craze with its A Cut Above® potato line. The premium quality, fresh-cut, foodservice line will be on display at the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) Foodservice Conference in Monterey, California, this month.
“For a decade, we’ve been bringing the foodservice sector premium-quality potatoes in response to a profitable and growing segment for on-premise accounts,” said Kathleen Triou, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fresh Solutions Network. “Since the pandemic, fresh potatoes are found on more menus than frozen potatoes and on menus showing fresh innovation. Appetizers, sides, and spices are also growing categories, pointing to a large opportunity—especially for potatoes.”
As a press release detailed, the A Cut Above line includes fresh whole potatoes, fresh whole peeled potatoes (with or without Kosher certification), fresh-cut French fries, fresh-cut wedges, 1/4” sliced fresh-cut potatoes, and diced fresh-cut potatoes available in 5/8”, 3/4” and 1/2” packed in 30 or 35-lb vacuum-sealed bags.
Most of the products are available skin-on or skin-off. With the convenience of the pre-cut products, foodservice customers are able to streamline kitchen workflow, add profit, and leverage the choices consumers want.
This comes at the perfect time as the growing Gen Z demographic embraces innovative and international new ways to incorporate the fan-favorite vegetable.
At booth #421, Basin Gold Cooperative from Washington and Masser Family of Companies of Pennsylvania will attend the conference on behalf of FSN, the release explained.
“We are successfully selling the A Cut Above French fry, whole peeled, wedge cuts, and a variety of diced sizes,” added Bob Meek, Chief Revenue Officer of Masser Family of Companies. “These fresh-cut signature potato items help the foodservice industry respond to consumers’ changing tastes, provide profitability, and ensure that patrons keep returning.”
A Cut Above Potatoes are exclusively available from Fresh Solutions Network’s partners, complementing the provider’s robust portfolio of Side Delights® potato products.
