GR Fresh’s Tony Incaviglia Shares New Packaging Solutions for Foodservice Conference Showcase

MONTEREY, CA - The foodservice sector is getting ready to take center stage as the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) Foodservice Conference comes up on our calendars. One industry member who is ready to meet with partners again is Tony Incaviglia, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for GR Fresh. I called Tony up to learn more about the convenient offerings the grower has lined up for the show in Monterey, California.

Tony Incaviglia, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, GR Fresh“With all the challenges that we’ve had the last few years, we took a really hard look at where we’re headed and where we’re going, starting with the strong items we’re known for,” begins Tony. “We want to continue doing the best possible job we can on the commodities that we’re the strongest in, and we’re livening our lineup with some new packaging.”

Items such as colored bell peppers, Roma and Grape tomatoes, cucumbers, soft squash, and green beans will be the focal point at the grower’s booth this year. One way GR Fresh is looking to optimize back-of-house operations is with its new resealable packages to make storage convenient and fresh produce more accessible.

Labor concerns and space constraints are challenges many foodservice operations continue to face. Providing quality products through convenient packaging not only saves time in prep work but also valuable storage space for restaurants short on resources.

“We are looking out for the smaller eateries that don’t have a big enough house to store bulk items,” explains Tony. “So, for operations that only have a fridge, a cooler, or a small cold box, we will be showcasing some new colored bell, green bean, and jalapeño packs that are easy to open, use, reseal, and store.”

Creating solutions and providing convenient services helps the industry all around. Not only that, but trade shows such as the Foodservice Conference make for a great opportunity to re-establish relationships—and build new ones. Tony shares that one thing the team looks forward to is being in-person again to renew acquaintances.

“Seeing customers and friends again is always a great feeling. We’re also looking for opportunities with new potential customers for further growth. It’s important for us to get out there and present ourselves,” Tony tells me.
