Honeybear® Brands' Don Roper Discusses New Import Cherry Program

ELGIN, MN - Do your shoppers ask for Honeybear® Brands by name? Either way, you can bet they will be in the near future, because the company is now offering imported cherries during the winter season. Complementing its summer programs in Washington and California, the grower will now import cherries directly from Chile to ensure that the category sales flow year-round.

Don Roper, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Honeybear® Brands“Imported cherries require detailed attention to successfully get into the customers shopping basket, and we’re proud of the supply chain we have built ensuring our customers get the freshest, most flavorful fruit from Chile driving repeat sales,” says Don Roper, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

To make this dual-hemisphere program a reality, Honeybear strengthened its 25-year apple and pear partnership with Chile-based grower Frusan. The alliance proves mutually beneficial as Frusan looks to expand its cherry production.

“Grower partnerships in the Southern Hemisphere allow us to provide some of the highest-quality fruit in the world. We are dedicated to take that privilege and help retailers avoid shrink, drive high sales, and gain repeat customers,” continues Roper.

Gone are the days when shoppers thought cherries were only around for part of the year. According to a press release, Honeybear’s Chilean cherries are available late December through February, and its domestic cherries are available May through August.

Treat your shoppers to delicious cherries year-round by teaming up with Honeybear Brands.
