International Fresh Produce Association to Host Joy of Fresh Activation at the Eastern Market on Capitol Hill; Robert Guenther Shares
WASHINGTON, DC & NEWARK, DE - With much anticipation building, The Washington Conference is nearly here, taking place September 26–28. The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) is contributing to the hype, announcing that in addition to speakers and meetings with congresspeople, the association will host a Joy of Fresh activation at the Eastern Market on Capitol Hill.
“Everywhere we bring the industry directly to our consumers and partners is an opportunity to celebrate the Joy of Fresh,” said Chief Public Policy Officer Robert Guenther. “The Joy of Fresh is that bright, flavorful, nutritious, delightful, and surprising experience fresh in your day that you can find in produce and floral. When you consider the critical nature of the advocacy work being done by our members at the Washington Conference, it’s a clear opportunity to also share that story with our consumers and DC influencers.”
Taking place from noon to 7 p.m. ET on September 27, the event will be open to IFPA Washington Conference attendees but will also invite DC influencers, including key congressional and administrative staff and consumer advocates.
The Eastern Market is at the heart of the Capitol Hill community, where visitors flow through the space from Tuesday to Sunday to attend the South Hall Market with a variety of merchants, a press release explained. On weekends, however, the market expands to include live music and more.
IFPA will be taking over the market with both indoor and outdoor spaces to share Fall Harvest produce items, flower braiding, and other interactive produce and floral programming. The association will also host the Joy of Fresh Happy Hour, inviting those in the Capitol Hill neighborhood to learn more about the commitments the industry is making to create a vibrant future for all.
