Jasmine Vineyards Debuts Alison Grapes
DELANO, CA - Jasmine Vineyards is officially debuting the Alison grapes variety under its portfolio of high-quality table grapes. And, with this San Joaquin Valley grower gearing up for a July 15 kick-off, Jasmine Vineyards has plenty of varietals for retailers to take advantage of just as summer demand hits its stride in the produce aisle.
“Jasmine Vineyards’ Alison grapes will make their debut this year,” Jon Zaninovich, President, revealed to me. “Alison grapes are a late-season variety that is large both in berry and bunch size. Their color is a nice, deep pink-red with a pleasing neutral-sweetness. I think this variety will nicely complement the rest of our table grape offerings and introduce another fall staple to retailers.”
Available between October through January, the newly debuted Alison grapes will be available in all of Jasmine Vineyard’s packaging options, including field bags, stand-up pouches, clamshells, sealed punnets, and its newest compostable clamshells.
"The climate and weather here in Delano have been cooperative," Jon continued. "In recent months we've been busy gearing up for a safe harvest season with our comprehensive Business Continuity Plan. Jasmine Vineyards will continue to follow CDC, Cal OSHA, and California Farmworker Foundation guidelines to ensure we are on top of the latest safety protocols to keep our employees healthy throughout the season."
These safety measures have included social distancing training; the continual use of safety masks; the implementation of plexiglass, which is being installed between stations in Jasmine Vineyard’s packing facilities and front lobby; and weekly “Safety Procedure Updates and Best Practices” sessions with staff.
