LOS ANGELES, CA - It came to our attention last week that S&H Farms, an operation in Kern County, California, was acquired by Wonderful Nut Orchards, a unit of The Wonderful Companies. In our quest to find out more about the transaction, we turned to Joel Montminy, CEO and Founder of Montminy & Co., whose company oversaw the transaction.

“S&H Farms is a great example of one piece of a larger, multi-generational family-owned business,” stated Montminy in an exclusive statement sent to ANUK. “For a variety of reasons, the family decided this year was the appropriate time to exit its farming operations. We hand selected the potential buyers, and after reviewing various offers, felt that Wonderful, with its significant resources, expertise, and adjacent land, was the ideal new owner for this farm.”

Montminy would not disclose the price of the transaction or any other details.

He did share that, “We continue to advise this family on strategic options for its other assets, including distribution operations and warehousing facilities.”
