New York Apple Association Names Cailin Kowalewski as Account Promotion Manager
FISHERS, NY - The New York Apple Association (NYAA) recently sprouted a new branch on the leadership team. Cailin Kowalewski has been named as the new Account Promotion Manager. With this latest promotion, Kowalewski will work with retail and foodservice partners across the country to develop and execute promotions for Apples From New York™.
“Now more than ever, consumers are looking for health-boosting foods and creative ideas on how to easily prepare them,” said Kowalewski. “New York apples are a delicious, nutrient-rich choice for health and our promotions highlight their flavor, adaptability, and quality.”
Previously, Kowalewski worked as a Retail Account Manager for the association and as an Assistant Account Manager before that. In this new role, Kowalewski will continue to execute and analyze promotion programs with foodservice and retail partners, while also assisting with the creation of push/pull marketing programs and oversight of retail and foodservice nutrition programs. She will also develop custom retail display resources, execute displays contests, and coordinate digital promotions.
“We believe Cailin is the perfect person for this position. She is creative, resourceful, and we are thankful she is part of our team,” stated Cynthia Haskins, President. “Planning for retail and foodservice promotions is already underway and we look forward to this year’s apple crop season.”
According to the press release, the change comes as the association rolls out new resources, programs, and campaigns—many developed for both in-store and digital applications. This year’s changing food space has prompted the need for creative promotion ideas and new ways to reach customers in a meaningful way. To help facilitate this change, NYAA has produced over 20 videos and resources that highlight the health benefits of apples and will make these videos along with how-to recipe videos available to retailers.
The new recipe videos and point-of-sale materials along with NYAA’s new Dietitian Toolkit bring fresh images, colors, and information to consumers, including nutrition information that is geared toward customers seeking guidance on how to support their immune systems through diet.
Prior to joining NYAA, Kowalewski worked for Cornell Cooperative Extension as a Nutrition and Consumer Science Coordinator. Kowalewski is a 2015 graduate of Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy where she earned a master’s degree in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition. Her expertise in nutrition and passion for all things food have been important in the development of engaging recipe content and accurate communication of New York apples’ health benefits to consumers. It will also be well-utilized as the association expands its promotions to retail and foodservice dietitians, who keep their finger on the pulse of trending health issues, consumers’ nutrition needs, and how best to appeal to discerning, health-conscious shoppers.
Congratulations to Cailin Kowalewski for an exciting adventure ahead in her new career!
