SELAH, WA - The Southeast Produce Council’s (SEPC) Southern Exposure signals that spring is just around the corner, which, for Rainier Fruit Company, means it is time to talk cherries and blueberries. While it’s still too early to get into specifics, Sales Manager Tyler Johnson is ready to discuss plans and needs for 2025.

“We’ll have more hand-picked, 100 percent organically grown blueberries this year as new plantings continue to come online. Rainier is an original grower of exclusive Sekoya genetics, which we’ll have more of this season to wow shoppers with. Our entire program is built around consumer satisfaction, and we’ll be showcasing what makes Rainier’s blueberries special at our booth,” Tyler began telling me.

As for apples, this summer Rainier Fruit will have a full menu of varietals available, including top-selling Envy and Pink Lady. According to Tyler, these varieties have both continued year-on-year sales growth despite being top ten varieties for some time now. Rainier will also continue its seven-year streak of shipping Washington-grown organics year-round.

“At our SEPC booth, we’ll have some really cool new package designs to show off as well. We’re keeping them as a surprise until the show, but what I will say is they feature some retro Rainier history in a modern look that will really catch the eyes on-shelf,” Tyler continued.

He added that the Rainier team is excited to get together with its produce family and share that the grower continues to be a fourth-quarter player and leader in execution, varietal mix, and quality.

“We’re really fortunate to work with great partners and always love seeing friends both new and old,” Tyler said on a final note. “It’s great to trade screens and phones for some good, old-fashioned time together. Getting some time in the warm Florida weather afterward is always a plus too.”

I can already hear the trade show hustle and bustle rising! Be sure to stop by the Rainier booth to stay in the know.
