Wakefern Food Corp. Bolsters Leadership Team With Elena Kabasinskas and Michael Day; Joe Sheridan Details



KEASBEY, NJ - Wakefern Food Corp.’s latest executive leadership change is a two-for-one deal. As Elena Kabasinskas steps up as the new Group Vice President of Strategy, Planning, and Transformation, Michael Day has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Strategy, Business Development, and Architecture.

Michael Day, Senior Vice President of Strategy, Business Development, and Architecture, Wakefern Food Corp.In his new role, Day will spearhead Wakefern’s strategic planning across a range of business units. This includes responsibility for maintaining oversight of key operations including Information Technology, Real Estate, Business Development, Member Services, and Strategic Transformation efforts.

Day joined Wakefern in 1999, according to a press release, holding a range of positions with the company. He recently served as Group Vice President of Strategic Planning, Business Development, and Retail Services.

Kabasinskas, on the other hand, has been named as a Group Vice President.

Elena Kabasinskas, Group Vice President of Strategy, Planning, and Transformation, Wakefern Food Corp.She will oversee the business processes and change management efforts that accelerate strategies to help the cooperative meet customers’ evolving needs. In the new role, she will be responsible for leading transformation planning, strengthening business processes, and the strategic deployment of new technologies.

Prior to joining Wakefern, Kabasinskas spent more than a decade with The Estée Lauder Companies, holding the position of SVP in the Global Transformation Office and Special Projects. She led strategic initiatives that drove growth, efficiency, and transformational change. Prior to that, she served as SVP of Strategy, Finance, and Business Services, North America Region, and led financial and business operations.
