Westfalia Fruit France Announces Newest Cutting-Edge Facility in Graveson; Paulina Criticos Details
FRANCE - Westfalia Fruit’s industry prowess is ever-growing. In a recent announcement, Westfalia Fruit France has unveiled the construction of a new facility in Graveson, in the Provence area of the South of France. The official opening of the new site will be held this month, November 2022, marking the 12th facility Westfalia operates across Europe and the United Kingdom.
“The Graveson site is a significant addition to our existing European operations and will work closely with our existing site in Paris and across Europe to ensure we continue to deliver consistent high-quality avocados to new and existing customers,” said Paulina Criticos, Westfalia Fruit’s Chief Executive Officer for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The state-of-the-art new facility will include avocado storage, ripening rooms, and packing capability to support Westfalia’s pan-European operations, a press release noted. The packhouse will double the production ability of the provider’s French operations, enabling it to serve a broader geographical customer base and further increase its market share in Europe.
“The benefit of building a new site is that we can ensure it is fit for the future, incorporating cutting-edge technology and building materials including thermal insulation, motion detectors in common areas, and renewable energy,” Criticos adds.
The world-class facility has been designed according to the highest level of environmental and food safety requirements. The cutting-edge ripening intellectual property that is applied to the provider’s ripening rooms have been designed with the newest innovations, allowing Westfalia to ripen avocados and other exotic fruits to its customers’ specifications.
