Allen Lund Company Names David Bayles as Corporate General Counsel, Cindy Lupica Retires; Steve Doerfler Comments
LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE, CA - Allen Lund Company (ALC) has tapped a new General Corporate Counsel in David Bayles. Bayles will be succeeding Cindy Lupica, who has capped off a successful 17 years.
“When I heard Cindy was retiring, I immediately felt great about the opportunity,” Bayles exclaimed, reflecting on the transition to his new role. “After learning more about the business [and] meeting Cindy, the Executive Team, and other ALC team members, I was confident this was the perfect match!”
Bayles started as the new General Corporate Counsel on July 24. He joined ALC from ArentFox Schiff, a full-service national law firm. Based in the Los Angeles, California, office, he provided an array of legal services for 22 years, including in his most current role as a Senior Attorney in Complex Litigation.
As the release noted, Lupica has been an invaluable asset to ALC, especially during the company’s recent period of growth and expansion. Lupica has paved the way for both ALC and Bayles during her more than 17 years of exemplary service.
“When the late Allen Lund asked me if I would like to join the Allen Lund Company as its first in-house Counsel, I laughed. Having no experience in general counsel or transportation law, I told Allen that I was the last person who should take the job. His response was that we would learn together. Seventeen-plus years later, and under the insightful tutelage of Allen and so many others, I learned and thrived in a fast-paced, collaborative, and fun environment,” Lupica stated, reflecting on her career. “With my upcoming retirement and the start of the next chapter of my life, I am thrilled to welcome attorney David Bayles to ALC, where I know that he will seamlessly and professionally assume the mantle of the company’s next General Counsel.”
Chief Financial Officer Steve Doerfler also paid tribute to Lupica.
“While we are sad to be saying goodbye to Cindy after 17 great years, we know we’re in good hands with the addition of David,” Doerfler commented. “Cindy’s hard work and dedication to ALC have left us in a great position to make this transition.”
We wish you all the best, Cindy Lupica, on your retirement!
