Bee Sweet Citrus Lays Foundation for Successful Summer Import Season
FOWLER, CA - Spring is cool, but let’s be real—summer is better. Summer just has much more of a free spirit, a vibe that I, well, vibe with. Bee Sweet Citrus must be thinking something pretty similar because the citrus provider is already bypassing the last weeks of spring in favor of laying the foundation for a successful summer import season.
“Every year, our team works hard to ensure that there’s a smooth transition of product between California’s domestic season and the start of our import programs,” said Joe Berberian, Sales Manager. “While we are still working with several domestic varieties, we’re always looking ahead to ensure our consumers that they can rely on Bee Sweet for year-round citrus availability.”
Currently, Bee Sweet’s domestic citrus season in California is still going strong—a feat the company attributes to the fact that its farming, production, and sales teams work together to communicate accurate and timely information to consumers. This also means that varieties such as Star Ruby grapefruit, Minneola Tangelos, and several other specialty varieties are available to shoppers, according to a press release.
“Consumer demand for oranges, lemons, and mandarins is year-round,” Jason Sadoian, Sales Representative, added. “With citrus varieties continuously increasing in popularity as a household staple, we’ve been working strategically with our Chilean partners to plan a smooth transition into our import season.”
Bee Sweet’s import season will begin around June and bring in faves like Chilean Clementines, Navel oranges, Cara Cara navels, Minneola Tangelos, and lemons. But that doesn’t mean domestic varieties are going anywhere; domestic varieties will continue to be available into the early summer months as well.
