Bobalu Shares California Weekly Crop Update

SANTA MARIA, CA - For those readers who do not reside in California like AndNowUKnow’s editorial team, recent weather can be summed up in one word: rain. After weeks of storms, it appears that the Golden State is preparing for warmer temperatures, and Bobalu is detailing what this means for its strawberry season.

“We may have finally turned the corner! Mild weather conditions have finally arrived in California, and our strawberry plants are welcoming spring at last,” the grower said in an update.

In its Oxnard, California, growing region, the supplier reports that its plants are looking great, and its fruit is excellent in color, shape, and flavor.

Daily volume is increasing in the area, and Bobalu anticipates its weekly numbers to continue to increase for the next several weeks, heading into a peak in May. The daily temperatures are in the mid-60s, with cool nights expected for the next few weeks.

Moving farther south to Coachella, the region is seeing spring conditions and slightly cooler temperatures than normal. Volume is steady for the area, and quality and flavor remain strong.

For Bobalu, harvesting could pick up in the next couple of weeks in Santa Maria as the warm weather begins to kick in. Plants are responding to the changes in temperature and conditions, and the grower anticipates a decent volume by the end of April. Currently, volume is minimal in this region.

As California weather shifts, AndNowUKnow is the place for more crop updates.
