Bolthouse Fresh Foods™ Wins Best Sustainable Packaging at Global Produce & Floral Show; Karen White Comments
BAKERSFIELD, CA - Earlier this year, Bolthouse Fresh Foods made headlines here at ANUK for the exciting revamp of its century-old brand. Now, the supplier is once again standing out in the packaging arena, receiving the Best Sustainable Packaging Award at the International Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA) 2024 Global Produce & Floral Show. The brand was spotlighted for its innovative compostable packaging, which will debut this month at Meijer with 1 and 2 lb Bolthouse Fresh baby carrots before broadening to organic products in 2025.
"Our mission is to provide fresh, nutritious produce that people can trust," said Karen White, Vice President of Marketing at Bolthouse Fresh Foods. "The launch of our compostable packaging is a natural extension of that mission, offering solutions that not only meet the needs of our customers but also support a healthier planet. This honor affirms our goal to reinvigorate the fresh produce aisle with vibrant and versatile fresh carrot products."
In addition to being TUV certified, the supplier’s new compostable packaging is made from renewable canola and breaks down using standard home composting practices, a press release explained. Each package also includes a QR code that offers tips for effective composting, simplifying the process for consumers at home.
Bolthouse Fresh Foods shook up the show floor with a variety of category innovations, including its Bolthouse Fresh Sizzlers, which features crinkle-cut carrots with three sauce kit flavors, and Bolthouse Fresh Carrot Shakers in Ranch, Dill Pickle, and Spicy Chili Lime.
Further elevating the legacy of this long-standing brand, the company also expects to launch a new website in November, while maintaining a steady product innovation pipeline.
