Costco Invests $100 Million into New Auckland Store
NEW ZEALAND - Late last June, ANUK heard tell that Costco was expanding in a new market. Naturally, our ears perked up immediately, for it was the first mention of the retailer’s expansion into New Zealand. At the time, details were still being ironed out. Now, Costco has released information that it plans to invest over $100 million in its new store.
The location, which is set to open sometime in 2021, will further support Costco’s expansion efforts across the globe. Recently, the company has opened new stores in China and Australia, as well as celebrating milestones in Canada.
But as a report from stuff, a New Zealand news site, explains, Costco’s new location will increase the retailer’s competition and will dial into an export program of New Zealand products to other Costco stores worldwide.
Will Costco pop up on another island nation? AndNowUKnow will continue to follow the latest in all things retail, expansion, and more.
