Duda Farm Fresh Foods’ John Alderman Dishes on Strong Corn Market
SALINAS, CA - Sun’s out, BBQs out! The summer sizzle season is upon us, and I can speak from personal experience that any chance to get out of the house right now is a golden ticket. There is a plethora of fruit and veggies that are perfect to go on the grill, and a classic favorite in most consumers’ baskets during this time is fresh corn on the cob. I got a chance to catch up with John Alderman, Assistant Sales Manager, to see how Duda Farm Fresh Foods is faring in a strong market.
“We are seeing high demand for fresh corn this season, and the quality has been excellent!” John starts. “Market conditions are much higher than a year ago and we project it to be strong for the next several weeks.”
To add value, and create cross-promotional opportunities, Duda’s fresh corn tray pack packaging includes recipes and cooking instructions to inspire and excite consumers. Duda’s 360-degree marketing strategy also utilizes influencer partnerships, social media, public relations, and website content to elevate corn to the consumer and increase brand awareness across the board.
John explains there was an abnormal weather pattern during the season, but thankfully Duda’s crops weren’t affected.
“We had a mix of normal temperatures and extended days of milder temperatures, but our harvest is still looking good,” John continues. “Right now, we are currently harvesting yellow, white, and bicolor corn out of Georgia and we should have steady volumes for retail promotions.”
With a full-scope tool on deck and a strong market to navigate, it’s looking like a golden opportunity for a cornucopia of summer rings. For more updates in the industry, keep checking back on ANUK.
