Duda Farm Fresh Foods Releases Weather and Crop Update
OXNARD, CA - It’s the end of the week, and as I train my eyes to all the weather websites Google can find me, I’m sure those out on the field have their resources they rely on to predict Mother Nature. Duda Farm Fresh Foods is prepping the industry before the weekend vibes kick into gear, and we’re taking to the skies to check its harvests through a meteorological lens.
Florida recently experienced moderate temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to low-80s. The East Coast saw sunny skies, which gave way to everything being on track for Duda’s celery harvest in December. Duda’s radishes are seeing a stable market, while the grower’s market and demand for Romaine and Romaine Hearts are strong with excellent quality. The company is also experiencing a great presentation on its tray pack corn.
Over here on the West, noted the release, there were partly cloudy skies with temperatures around the low-40s to low-60s. Currently, celery demand exceeds supply as the market continues to rise. With support from Mexico, the supply of Iceberg lettuce has increased industry-wide. Additionally, the grower’s Romaine, Romaine Hearts, and green and red leaf lettuce supply have also grown as demand begins to slow down. Broccoli and cauliflower availability remains limited as cooler temperatures persist in these growing regions.
Additionally, the grower’s “Dip It 2 Win It Sweepstakes” is back. Duda’s largest, annual consumer sweepstakes launched on December 14, and it will go on until February 10, and the company will be giving away prizes and sharing game-day inspiration and recipes with shoppers.
