LOS ANGELES, CA - We know what you’re supposed to do when life gives you lemons, but what about when life gives you Lemonade™? My advice: large and enticing apple displays! Giumarra Companies is offering its partners promotable volumes of its domestic Lemonade apples this fall, supported by an increase in production in Washington state and boosted availability in Pennsylvania.

“We are excited to share that we have expanded our offering of exclusive Lemonade apples in collaboration with Apple King from Washington state and Rice Fruit Company from Pennsylvania,” said Jason Bushong, Wenatchee Division Manager for the Giumarra Companies. “Our increased supply will help us meet the soaring consumer demand for this distinctive variety.”

Promotable volumes of Lemonade apples will begin shipping in late October and will continue through January, a press release noted, with bulk cartons and multiple bag options available.

Backing its retail and foodservice partners’ promotional efforts, Giumarra is also offering customized marketing planning, in addition to in-store and online merchandising support and other tailored programs to help drive consumer demand.

“Word of mouth has been a powerful tool in generating consumer excitement for our brand,” said Bushong. “Consumers are captivated by the apple’s visually appealing yellow hue, invigorating tang, and satisfying crunch.”

Bushong also went on to note the importance of the company’s grower partners in expanding the domestic acreage of Lemonade apples. Developed in New Zealand, the Lemonade variety has been in commercial development in the United States for five years. The Keller family—recognized globally under their distinguished brand name—has been growing apples in Yakima Valley since 1914. Rice Fruit Company, founded in 1913, is a family-run fruit packing business located in the heart of Pennsylvania’s apple country, the release went on to note.

Further supporting its partners’ apple programs, Giumarra offers a range of other domestic apple varieties, including Fuji, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Red Delicious, and Royal Gala.
