Grocery Outlet Announces First Store in Hamilton Township, New Jersey

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ - The East Coast market is Grocery Outlet’s for the taking, as the retail chain recently laid the groundwork for its first store in the state of New Jersey. This market provides ample opportunity for Grocery Outlet to fortify its footprint in pursuit of a nationwide presence.

According to local news source Jersey Digs, the new location is expected to open this fall, and will be located at the Hamilton Plaza in a former Kmart store, which closed in December of 2019. Grocery Outlet’s footprint in New Jersey will stand at 20,644 square feet, 14,265 of which will be used as the sales floor.

Eyeing expansion on the East Coast, Grocery Outlet recently laid the groundwork for its first store in the state of New Jersey

In November of 2020, Chief Executive Officer Eric Lindberg divulged that Grocery Outlet was eyeing the East Coast, with Pennsylvania and New Jersey on its target list. It appears that those plans have come to fruition as the retailer prepares to open its doors in the Garden State.

The news source also noted that Grocery Outlet Director of Real Estate Jack Reilly revealed that the chain is still “actively seeking expansion in New Jersey.”
