Kroger Expands Delivery Network With New Facilities in Dallas, Texas, and Louisville, Kentucky; Bill Bennett Comments
DALLAS, TX & LOUISVILLE, KY - As Kroger seeks to improve its shopper experience and bolster its delivery service, what's the latest move in its successful growth blueprint? You guessed it, another expansion of its fulfillment network. Most recently, the grocer revealed the opening of a new customer fulfillment center (CFC) in Dallas, Texas, and a new spoke facility in Louisville, Kentucky.
"Kroger's fast-growing seamless ecosystem takes the promise of zero compromise to the next level, with Kroger Delivery bringing the freshest food and quality ingredients to your own doorstep—when you want it, how you want it," said Bill Bennett, Kroger Vice President and Head of E-Commerce. "Customers can use Kroger.com or the Kroger app to check the weekly circular, select personalized digital coupons, search products by dietary preference, and ultimately place their delivery order, saving time and money."
The new 350,000-square-foot CFC is powered by the Ocado Group and will leverage advanced robotics technology and creative solutions to redefine the customer experience for customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, a press release stated.
The grocer also pulled back the curtain on a 50,000-square-foot spoke facility, which will collaborate with Kroger's CFC in Monroe, Ohio, and will serve as a last-mile cross-dock location to expand Kroger Delivery's ability to serve more customers in the Greater Louisville region.
"Kroger Delivery is part of our rapidly expanding seamless ecosystem that provides customers with fresh and quality products—anytime and anywhere," commented Bennett. "We are thrilled to expand Kroger's offerings to more Louisville customers with a truly differentiated customer experience...Customers will enjoy receiving their orders directly from our refrigerated trucks and delivered by trained Kroger uniformed associates, giving customers an unparalleled first-class delivery experience."
