Mucci Farms Forms Strategic Partnership With Cox Enterprises; Bert Mucci, Danny Mucci, Gianni Mucci, Joe Spano, and Steve Bradley Comment
ATLANTA, GA - In a play to meet rising consumer demand for indoor-grown products, Cox Enterprises has announced an investment in Mucci Farms as the two companies have formed a strategic partnership. This alliance marks the next phase of Cox’s building of a multibillion-dollar controlled environment agriculture (CEA) business.
“It’s humbling to see how far we have come as an organization that was once a small family business,” said Mucci Principals Bert Mucci, Danny Mucci, Gianni Mucci, and Joe Spano in a joint statement. “For several decades, we have had tremendous growth at Mucci Farms to bring us to the forefront of controlled environment agriculture. The core of our organization and success has been rooted in family values across the board, from our internal teams to our partners. We are committed to supporting our customers with high-quality products, excellence in execution, and vertically integrated support from seed to retail. We are excited to continue this journey with Cox Enterprises, who share those values and that vision and will support our efforts to provide more communities with fresh produce from coast to coast.”
This recent transaction adds to Cox’s over $1 billion investment in sustainable technologies since 2007, a press release stated. Through its strategic partnership with Mucci Farms, Cox’s CEA business will have an expanded variety of sustainably grown produce and an enhanced geographic region as the grower has a network of thousands of acres of indoor-grown fruits and vegetables.
“At Mucci Farms, our primary focus, first and foremost, is executing with excellence for our customers from seed to retail,” added Spano, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, in a statement to AndNowUKnow. “The opportunity to increase our scale and supply from coast to coast is in line with our short-term and long-term goals. Cox brings a wealth of experience and resources, and we’re looking forward to working with them to further this path of rapid growth that we have been on for the last several years.”
Headquartered in Ontario, Canada, Mucci Farms supplies fresh produce to retailers across Canada and the United States and has greenhouses in both countries. The company also has a team of over 2,000 employees who help manage and operate its world-class technology, as Mucci places a high emphasis on automation and robotics to improve efficiencies.
“Mucci Farms combines its multigenerational farming expertise and technological innovations to grow high-quality, great-tasting produce,” said Steve Bradley, Vice President of Cleantech, Cox Enterprises. “It’s the perfect complement to our expanding footprint in sustainable agriculture, and we look forward to working together with the Mucci Farms team to transform the industry.”
