New York Apple Association Launches Snack Responsibly Ads; Cynthia Haskins and Kelly Springer Comment
NEW YORK - Happy New Year! If amplifying your focus on health is among your list of resolutions this year—like it is for many consumers—then you're in luck! The New York Apple Association (NYAA) is rolling out a series of Snack Responsibly themed ads through social media platforms, with high-impact ads boldly reminding shoppers to make healthy snacking decisions.
"Apples are a great go-to snack since they are portable, delicious, and the perfect pick-me-up anytime during the day," said Cynthia Haskins, NYAA President and Chief Executive Officer.
The ads will appear on NYAA's social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, a press release noted. To bring this campaign to reality, the organization moved most of its creative work in-house, designing a kitchen set on its premises to allow photoshoots, recipe creation, and video production to be done onsite.
Complementing this innovative, brand-boosting strategy, the association is also releasing a series of healthy salads, introducing a new salad creation each month through its social media platforms. NYAA also shared that it is working behind the scenes in preparation for expanding the healthy recipe and content section on its website.
"Wherever someone is on their wellness journey, we are here for them," added Haskins. "Whether they are looking for healthy salad recipes; Snack Responsibly ideas; or folding NY apples into their recipes to add crunch, flavor, sweetness, or tang, we have something for everyone."
In addition, NYAA is hosting a consumer sweepstakes promotion each month, which will be launched digitally and through social media channels. The sweepstakes will allow shoppers to win prizes and receive tips for preparing dishes using New York apples or preparing healthy snack options.
Kelly Springer, Registered Dietitian, MS, R.D., CDN; spokesperson for NYAA; and owner of Kelly's Choice, is kicking off the new year by giving television and social media viewers snacking options using New York apples.
"The key to healthy living is to eat real food and enjoy treats, in moderation, and reach for healthy snack options like NY apples. Apples are a great source of fiber and vitamins and are a lower-calorie option," said Springer.
Over the last year and a half, NYAA has had over 771,000 visitors to the applesfromny.com website and expects this number to reach 1 million over the next few months. Backed by this health-focused brand strategy, we have a feeling that goal is well within reach.
