Publix Adopts A New Format For Tampa Store



TAMPA, FL - Expansion and innovation are in the works as Publix opens a new prototype format in Tampa, Florida. Recently, the retailer opened its latest location with consumers in mind and shopper loyalty in sight. To accompany Publix's new two-story format, the location features a traditional grocery and produce department as well as a self-service floral section.

Brian West, Community Relations Manager, Publix“This is our latest prototype,” shared Brian West, Community Relations Manager, in a statement sent to ANUK. “There is a mezzanine above the entrance with WiFi so our customers can enjoy their favorite Publix sub and surf the web, or a quiet place to get some work done.”

According to a press release, the retailer cut the ribbon on its new location, which measures 48,000 square feet, on December 10.

“We are very excited to open our Gandy Commons location. Our customers have waited many years for a Publix they could call their own in this area,” West continued.

Publix recently opened a new two-story prototype store format in Tampa, Florida

Located on 4315 W. Gandy Blvd., the store will employ approximately 175 associates comprising of transfers from existing stores alongside many new associates.
