US Foods Partners with Award-Winning Chef Marcus Samuelsson
ROSEMONT, IL – Bringing new innovations to the plate requires more than just aligning with the latest trend. The right amount of experience and creativity can take an idea to the a distinguished impression. US Foods is looking to embody that strategy with its latest partnership. The company is teaming up with award-winning chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson to cultivate a new line of products.

"By combining the scale of US Foods with Chef Samuelsson's skills, this partnership is one of the many ways US Foods is redefining the foodservice industry and differentiating ourselves as a partner to independent restaurants."
This partnership will produce six new products, to be launched in US Foods’ 2017 Fall Scoop release. These products, according to a press release, will strive to unleash menu creativity by bring distinctive and global flavors to domestic kitchens across the U.S. in a market that continues to be challenged by menu inspiration.
These products will offer foodservice operators flavor combinations that were inspired by Samuelsson’s Ethiopian and Swedish heritage, along with his roots in Harlem, NY. New York currently serves as the home to three of his 11 restaurants: Red Rooster Harlem, Ginny’s Supper Club, and Streetbird Rotisserie.
"One of the things I'm most excited about is creating items that are both on-trend and delicious," said Chef Samuelsson. "This partnership with US Foods will bring unique ingredients and distinctive flavors to restaurants across the country. I can't wait to see what chefs will do to make these products their own."
The new products are set to debut in US Foods’ Fall Scoop next month, on September 18.
