Volcano Erupts in Central Mexico



CENTRAL MEXICO - Recent volcanic activity in Mexico has sparked slight concern over at the AndNowUKnow office. A critical ag region for both the buy- and supply-sides, Central Mexico is facing potential inclement weather after a recent volcanic eruption.

The Popocatépetl volcano erupted on April 13, during which a column of ash and gases issued forth, reaching upwards of 1.5 kilometers (nearly one mile) in height.

There are currently no reports that any agricultural operations have been affected after the Popocatépetl volcano in Central Mexico erupted recently

According to local news source ADN40, Mexico’s National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC) reported an explosion that threw incandescent fragments on the slopes. The active stratovolcano is located in the states of Puebla and Morelos in Central Mexico.

There are currently no reports that any agricultural operations have been affected, nor any reports of negative effects on crops.
