SAN JOSE, CA - Experts in information technology are about to convene at the AgSafe ACTIVATE24 Annual Conference in Monterey, California, from February 20—22, and ZAG Technical Services (ZAG) is present to speak on cybersecurity and data analytics in the ag and food and beverage industries.

“It doesn’t have to mean catastrophe,” stated Greg Gatzke, ZAG Founder and President, who will be speaking on the panel. “More agribusinesses are turning to IT security firms to execute crucial cybersecurity projects. Strong prevention programs supported by incident response plans can have companies back online in hours, not weeks or even months as we’ve seen. I’m thrilled to be a part of this distinguished panel and look forward to sharing knowledge that will help secure our industry. Thank you, AgSafe, for the opportunity.”

The event session, Cyber Risk Mitigation and Breach Response, will feature several industry leaders including Greg Gatzke, along with Newfront’s Jennifer Wilson and Mullen Coughlin’s Carolyn Pruwin Ryan.

ZAG Technical Services will be attending the AgSafe ACTIVATE24 Annual Conference to speak on cybersecurity and data analytics in the ag and food and beverage industries

According to a press release, the panel will speak about the before, during, and after of a cyber incident, including how companies prepare and protect themselves, what happens when an attack occurs, and the development of a response plan to recover with limited business interruption. The panel will be moderated by Newfront’s Seth Word.

One of the main issues is teaching businesses how to prepare for a breach. Attendees can expect to learn how criminals find their victims and some simple, preventative measures that can be taken to greatly reduce risk. The release noted that the session will be entry-level, meaning all who attend will understand the modern risks and responsibilities of cybersecurity challenges. It will provide valuable information, simple solutions, and helpful resources for everyone from agricultural supervisors to executives.

Each panelist will provide valuable insights into the process of prevention, detection, and response with the same end goal: to help secure the food supply chain and the workers overseeing it.

AndNowUKnow will continue to bring you the latest in all things fresh produce, so stay tuned.
