2024 Closes On Successful Winter Program for Mucci Farms; Stephen Cowan Discusses
KINGSVILLE, ON, CANADA - The past year has been one of both change and constancy for Mucci Farms, which has explored growth opportunities to expand its ability to deepen its promises. From heightened value in product to premium access just in 2024 alone, Stephen Cowan took a moment to ponder the stage set for 2025.
"As we wrap up 2024, we are incredibly thankful to our partners, growers, and teams in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico for an outstanding year,” the Senior Director of Sales said. “Highlights include a 33-acre expansion to our strawberry farm, bringing it to an impressive 105 acres of berries under glass. Additionally, with the major acquisitions of Hacienda Farms and Greenhill Produce, we added over 300 acres of bell peppers, solidifying our position as the dominant force in the pepper category."
A standout for winter, though, is the company’s fastest-growing SKU in 2024, Savorries Strawberry Tomatoes.
"We've responded to the incredible demand by increasing planting by over 400 percent. It's been exciting to see both retailers and consumers recognize and appreciate the premium quality and exceptional flavor of this product," Stephen shared. "At the retail level, what sets Savorries apart from flavor and product quality is the strength of the truss, which helps maintain the integrity of the product by keeping the fruit securely attached to the vines. It's small details like these that make a big difference to consumers."
Winding down what remains of the year, however, does not mean the end of the company’s constant winter focus: reinforcing its industry-leading Canadian lit culture program.
“This is what allows us to grow award-winning products year-round,” Stephen emphasized. “One standout for the season every year is our Cutecumber Poppers, an award-winning snacking cucumber that is perfect for holiday gatherings. This item continues to pick up steam year after year, and we’re thrilled by the degree of customer loyalty we have for the program."
It is a bright new year that shines for the greenhouse grower, with all the strategic pieces in place for promising seasons to come.
