Church Brothers Farms Celebrates Earth Day with Clean Energy
SALINAS, CA - There’s no better way to celebrate Earth Day than by embracing green living. This year, Church Brothers Farms is celebrating Mother Nature’s favorite holiday by announcing it is in a position to power its True Leaf Farms salad-making facility in San Juan Bautista, California, with 100 percent clean energy.
Church Brothers Farms' clean power station, built by Concentric Power last summer, uses natural gas cogeneration and low temperature refrigeration to reduce energy intake and help the company do its part to help slow climate change.
“Concentric Power’s exclusive approach to modular natural gas cogen refrigeration helped us invest in cleaner forms of energy,” said Chairman of the Board, Tom Church.
While Church Brothers Farms and True Leaf Farms have long embraced and supported several environmentally-focused initiatives, including annually tracking and reporting their sustainability efforts. According to a press release, the upcoming Salinas growing season will be the first season during which the company will be able to use 100 percent clean energy.
On April 22nd, the official Earth Day, Church Brothers will also share its annual report card. For more information about Church Brothers Farms and its green journey, visit ChurchBrothers.com. For more of the latest ecofriendly accomplishments in our industry, stay tuned to AndNowUKnow.
