DOWNEY, CA - When we heard Brian Cook was entering a new role in the industry, we were quick to turn our heads. We consider the industry vet to be a close friend, so we delight in his most recent achievement. Cook was named as the new Managing Director for Westlake Produce Company, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Andrew Bivens.

“I am extremely excited to be part of the Westlake family. Over the last 60-plus years, they have built an amazing business, and I look forward to working with Andrew, Shawn [Patrick], Peter [O’Brien], and the team to take the company into its next phase of growth,” Cook said.

Prior to this new appointment, Cook was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hollandia Produce/Pete’s. The company was later acquired by Local Bounti in April 2022, where Cook stayed on as President.

With over 20 years of experience, he brings a wide range of skills in strategy, sales, marketing, product development, merchandising, operations, and supply chain to his new role.

“I have worked with Brian on numerous occasions as volunteers for the Fresh Produce & Floral Council, ultimately as Chairman and Chairman-elect in 2019. We worked extremely well together, and I am excited to have him on board as we take Westlake Produce Company into its next phase of growth,” stated Bivens.

Shawn Patrick, Chief Sales Officer, also commented.

“Brian’s experience in branding, new product development, and relationship building will be invaluable to Westlake as we continue growing out our programs to additional regions across the United States,” Patrick said in a press release from Westlake Produce Company.
