California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement Releases 2021/2022 Annual Report; Tim York Comments



SALINAS, CA - August is already well underway, and the California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement (LGMA) is showing its progress with the release of its Annual Report. Summarizing the activities of the organization and its members, the report provides key insights from April 1, 2021–March 31, 2022.

Tim York, Chief Executive Officer, California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement“The last several years have brought a lot of change to the LGMA food safety standards,” said Tim York, Chief Executive Officer. “These changes include updates to address the Food Safety Modernization Act’s Produce Safety Rule, updates to incorporate outbreak investigation findings, and new approaches to water quality as well as soil amendments and crop inputs. To put that into perspective, the LGMA audit has grown from around 300 checkpoints to more than 500.

Other information that can be found in the report includes a certified member list, audit and citation data, and a summary of changes to its food safety standards, according to a release.
