PHILADELPHIA, PA - Just a couple of weeks ago, we reported that former President of The GIANT Company Nicholas Bertram had landed in a new position as a member of Divert’s Advisory Board. Now, the executive has landed in an even more permanent role, being named to the newly created position of President and Chief Operating Officer at Flashfood.

Bertram joins the company with more than 20 years of experience in the retail industry, where he has dedicated his career to achieving sustainability, innovation, and growth. He has worked for companies including Jewel-Osco, Walmart, and most recently, The GIANT Company, which is an Ahold Delhaize brand.

During Bertram’s tenure at The GIANT Company, the retailer saw historic growth through acquisitions, new formats, market expansion, as well as exponential growth of digital engagement and e-commerce sales. He also had a significant impact on the company’s purpose-led culture.

As the new President and COO of Flashfood, Bertram will accelerate Flashfood’s growth, working closely with Domingues and internal department leaders to further develop capabilities and innovation that impact the connected problems of food insecurity and food waste, the release noted.
