The GIANT Company Opens Benner Township Store in Pennsylvania; John Ruane and Thomas “Woody” Woodring Comment
CARLISLE, PA - Ring the bells and grab your totes! Pennsylvania is welcoming a new grocery store in its Benner Township area, and local shoppers will be excited to explore The GIANT Company’s latest location.
“At The GIANT Company, we are a neighborhood grocery store, but we are also members of the communities we serve,” said John Ruane, Interim President, The GIANT Company. “The opening of our Benner Township GIANT builds on our legacy of serving the State College community for more than 30 years, offering families convenience, meal solutions, and savings to meet their lifestyles. Opening just in time for holiday celebrations, our new store reinforces our commitment to fulfilling our purpose of connecting families to a better future.”
Sitting at 50,000 square feet, GIANT’S signature fresh departments include farm fresh garden produce, floral, and many other services for today’s busy shoppers. The store is set to open on December 16. According to a press release, the new Benner Township store also features a hot foods bar with smoked meats and sushi made in-store.
The new store will be managed by 43-year grocery veteran Thomas “Woody” Woodring.

Customers of the new store will have access to GIANT’s Choice Rewards program as well as GIANT Direct, which gives busy families the opportunity to order their groceries online for easy pick-up.
