SAN ANTONIO, TX - It was a simpler time back in 2015 when H-E-B first partnered with Instacart—AmazonFresh didn’t exist yet, Vine and Gawker were still around, and megetables had yet to enter our darkest nightmares. But even then, H-E-B was laying the groundwork for its place in the highly competitive grocery delivery market that the industry grapples with today. Now Instacart is making a new business move in its strategy with the popular retailer, bringing its products to new regions.

With its closest store to Dallas 20 miles away, H-E-B is expanding its grocery delivery to service customers in that area

Although H-E-B is a large and highly sought-after retailer in Texas, it can’t be everywhere at once, and according to Dallas News, the grocer is lacking brick-and-mortar locations in some of the most densely populated areas of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Enter Instacart, which is leading the way with H-E-B and its banner Central Market. By adding its online shopping and delivery services to Instacart’s roster of available retailers in several Dallas-Fort Worth area codes, the two are effectively expanding their reach into urban areas with no brick-and-mortar presence.

Mabrie Jackson, Director of Public Affairs, Central Market Division of H-E-B"We are pleased the Instacart customer in select D-FW ZIP codes has both H-E-B and Central Market as choices when they shop for distinctive food items," said Mabrie Jackson, Director, Public Affairs for Central Market.

According to the news source, H-E-B’s closest store to Dallas is 20 miles away in Waxahachie, Texas, and while Instacart has not yet released the logistics behind the expanded delivery options, the strategy holds great promise.
