Hy-Vee Acquires Six Former Shopko Locations to Convert as Dollar Fresh



WEST DES MOINES, IA - We reported last year that the retailer was putting in a lot of attention for its Kansas and Missouri locations. It looks like Hy-Vee can add Iowa to the list because the company just announced that it acquired six former Shopko locations with plans to convert them under its Dollar Fresh banner.

Hy-Vee has acquired six former Shopko locations, with plans to convert them into Dollar Fresh stores

According to its press release, Hy-Vee will re-open the Dollar Fresh stores by late summer. Renovations will begin in the upcoming weeks for buildings located in Hampton, Cresco, Oelwein, Waukon, Dyersville, and Vinton. Customers will find a full selection of grocery items, a bakery section with a full range of fresh-baked items, a dollar section, a Wall of Value, ready-to-eat meal offerings, and other services.
