Jane Rhyno Shares Nature Fresh Farms' SEPC Southern Innovations Program, Details New Products
NASHVILLE, TN - Southeast Produce Council’s (SEPC) annual trade shows have long been known as harbingers of new ideas, deepening value, and budding relationships. With SEPC’s Southern Innovations event quickly approaching September 24–26 in Nashville, we rallied behind our industry friends to see how this gateway extravaganza is crystallizing for them. Jane Rhyno, Vice President, Marketing and Category Development, Nature Fresh Farms, was one of those conversations which I knew could only further inspire buy-side attendees, and so she pulled back the innovation curtain for me.
“At this year’s event, we are going to be focused on conveying two key messages. One is our mission of Growing for a Kinder Future, which speaks to how we at Nature Fresh Farms are driving change through all avenues of our business including our growing practices, packaging, community involvement, and more to effect positive change,” Jane shares with me. “The second message is Enhance. Elevate. Evolve. This view communicates how we can work with our customers and retailers to enhance their product offerings, elevate their fresh categories, and evolve their businesses.”
While SEPC is a harbinger for all things innovation, it is easy to see that Nature Fresh Farms is taking up that mantle as well, bringing a versatile portfolio to the Nashville floor.
First up for the September conference, Nature Fresh Farms will be showcasing its Hiiros™ Cherry Tomatoes on-the-Vine.
“We felt there was an opportunity within the snacking tomato category to provide an option that provided an elevated authentically tomato taste and was superior in quality, consistency, and flavor every time,” Jane details. “As part of our Premium Black Label series, Hiiros are outstanding in both look and taste. Vine-ripened for guaranteed freshness, these tomatoes have a rich umami flavor, visually enhanced color profile, and robust aromatic fragrance.”
Also, a recent debut, Nature Fresh Farms Snack Supplies™ will be highlighted and are bringing a perfect solution to busy parents who want to fuel their families with convenient, nutritious snacks to get them through the day.
This line is available in varieties including Medley Tomatoes, Tiny Cocktail Cucumbers, and Mini Sweet Peppers. Snack Supplies include collectible stickers, plus a kid-friendly game such as a word search, maze, or crossword puzzle with every package for even more added value.
“Another star of the show is our Yoom™—this two-bite, deep purple tomato is full of flavor and ideal for tomato enthusiasts,” Jane expresses. “With an intensity and range of flavor from savory to tart and a hint of plum-like sweetness, the Yoom variety is a flavor experience that will enhance any meal or enjoy on its own.”
So, are your taste buds tingling and mind a-light with produce department opportunities, yet? Well, Jane has even more vision to share.
“Nature Fresh Farms is future-facing and solution-oriented, meaning we are looking beyond the here and now. We understand that we have an impact on how people nourish and sustain themselves,” she says. “It’s not just about Nature Fresh Farms, it encompasses our entire industry and our role in supporting global food security.”
To this point, Jane tells me Nature Fresh Farms is focused on year-round, greenhouse-grown supply; safeguarding sustainable food security; advancing greenhouse innovation; and providing quality, high-flavor, and local produce that is closer to market.
