Luis Webb Discusses Potential, Expansion Capabilities, and Reach of Pacific Distribution Center

MCALLEN, TX - Consolidation continues to be a factor with effects that ripple throughout the supply chain. Amid the changes in resources this impacts, the minds behind longstanding industry operation GR Fresh have cultivated and expanded the capabilities of a separate arm: Pacific Distribution Center.

Luis Webb, Vice President of Operations, GR Fresh

“At Pacific Distribution Center, we don’t just move produce—we create value,” Luis Webb, Vice President of Operations, shared. “Our commitment to customer satisfaction, efficiency, and teamwork makes us a trusted partner in the industry. We proudly work with top-tier customers who prioritize supply chain efficiency and recognize the value of a seamless customer experience.”

He pointed out to me how, in the fast-paced world of perishable produce, every second counts—a metric that is only becoming more critical.

“With increased border inspections and ever-changing regulations, we understand the urgency of handling, storing, and distributing your products safely and swiftly. That’s why we put the best team in place, operating with speed, precision, and collaboration to keep your supply chain running smoothly,” Luis explained.

Running parallel but separate to GR Fresh's operations since June of 2021, PDC offers 50,000 square feet of space at a critical fresh distribution point with room to double its reach as needed by demand. With nine different temperature-controlled rooms, each individually able to offer a range of 33–60 degrees as needed, PDC offers a home for a wide range of commodities in fruit and veg.

“In addition to the standing facility, we acquired several acres next to the property to ensure flexibility to add even more capabilities,” Luis said. “At Pacific, we firmly believe that infrastructure, technology systems, and a strong work culture are the foundation for maintaining and growing our business in uncertain times. By investing in these key areas, we ensure efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement for our customers.”

When I asked Luis to explain the strategy of PDC, he summed it up simply: The team is in the business of helping others.

“While the industry faces challenges, our commitment to innovation and excellence remains unchanged. We don’t just work together—we perform as one,” he concluded.
