Ocean Mist® Farms' Chef Tony Baker Takes Home Chef's Choice Award at Foodservice Conference; Hilda Medina Shares
CASTROVILLE, CA - I still remember the tantalizing aromatics emanating from Ocean Mist® Farms’ booth at the International Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA) Foodservice Conference. The artichoke giant brought Baby Artichoke Risotto to the show floor with the help of Corporate Chef Tony Baker, winning the company the Chef’s Choice Award during the annual show.
“We had a great turnout at the show, with many people coming back for seconds of Chef Tony’s famous Baby Artichoke Risotto,” said Hilda Medina, Marketing Manager for Ocean Mist Farms. “It’s always great to see industry friends, colleagues, and customers at the show, and winning this prestigious award was a great ending to another successful Foodservice show.”
Chef Tony has an incredible passion for artichokes. His extensive experience with artichokes has been showcased through recipe development, pitching artichoke recipes to national chains, and training chefs nationwide on the many ways to cook and showcase artichokes.
According to a press release, he has also participated in chef demos and presentations at many shows—winning multiple awards along the way, including American Culinary Federation Chef of the Year in 2018—and has worked with Chef Curtis Stone to develop artichoke ideas for his artichoke-themed menu at his Beverly Hills restaurant.
“We have spent many years developing and perfecting recipes including our premium artichokes and other fresh vegetable offerings, and have compiled quite an archive of wonderful, diverse ways to prepare artichokes that go far beyond the obligatory dip or appetizer recipe,” added Medina.
