Publix Extends Reach in Kentucky

INDEPENDENCE, KY - Publix continues its expansion plans as it announces a nearly 20-acre development in Independence, Kentucky. So far Publix has placed one store in Boone county, Kenton county, and Campbell county.

According to a report from Yahoo!Finance, this will be the third store in Northern Kentucky for the Florida-based company. Back in 2021, Publix began its expansion into Kentucky with store plans for Louisville and Lexington as well.

Publix has been opening new stores in Southern states over the last five years in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Currently Publix has 1,360 stores, with more than three-quarters of those supermarkets being in Florida and Georgia.

Publix announced another development as it continues to build out operations in Kentucky

This new 48,387-square-foot facility is being developed right in the middle of Kenton County, the publication further noted, and will include several other brick-and-mortar stores. I can already imagine all the chicken tender Pub Subs flying out of those doors, in addition to fresh produce, of course.
