Publix Opens First Store in Kentucky; Kevin Murphy Comments
LAKELAND, FL - Entering a new market is the latest accomplishment on Publix’s list of recent moves, as the grocer has officially opened its first location in Kentucky.
“Today is a great day for Publix as we open our first store in the Bluegrass State,” said Chief Executive Officer Kevin Murphy. “We look forward to introducing Kentucky customers to our premier service and delivering on our promise to be a place ‘where shopping is a pleasure.’”
With the addition of the new 55,701-square-foot store, Publix has established its eighth state of operation.
The location offers the large selection of quality products Publix has come to be known for, with other features like a fresh pizza kitchen and a Pours area, offering coffee, wine, beer, kombucha, acai bowls, and smoothies that customers can enjoy while shopping in-store. Also elevating the shopper experience is the offering of custom subs, a food and soup bar, and more.
“As our Kentucky customers will come to know, they can count on us to deliver high-quality products that can only be found at Publix,” added Murphy. “Whether it is our famous Pub subs, Publix ice creams, bakery cakes, delicious ready-to-enjoy meals, or anything in between, we offer some of the best food around.”
Upon opening this location, Publix plans to open its next five Kentucky stores in the Louisville, Lexington, and Walton areas.
