UNITED STATES - Rudolf has a new side hustle. Uber Eats announced earlier this month that robotic reindeer will be delivering meals to selection locations through December.

“This December, we’re spreading some holiday cheer by dressing up delivery robots as reindeer,” said Noah Zych, Global Head of Autonomous Mobility and Delivery at Uber. “If you’re in Los Angeles, Miami, or Fairfax, we’ll be making spirits bright with Cartken and Serve robot reindeer, who will be delivering food all month long.”

According to a report from Fox Business, the robots are dressed with bright red noses and stuffed antlers. I can confirm that they look adorable.

As Zych noted in his statement, this holiday-themed promotion is made possible due to the partnerships with delivery robot providers Cartken and Serve Robotics.

Will we soon see more themed delivery robots? And will a gimmick turn into a strategy for Uber? Only time will tell.
