Stater Bros. Markets Rolls Out First “Local Fare” Forum To Showcase California Suppliers; Dennis McIntyre Comments
SAN BERNARDINO, CA - Stater Bros. Markets is demonstrating its heightened commitment to local brands as it continues to enact new strategies to diversify its robust supplier network. Recently the regional grocery chain revealed the launch of its “Local Fare” forum to provide more opportunities for local, California-based brands.
"Nurturing local families and communities—including local businesses—is at the heart of what we do," said Dennis McIntyre, Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer. "This initiative provides companies in our communities a larger retail footprint while our customers gain access to an expanded variety of healthy, high-quality, and innovative products. It's a win-win for local brands and our shoppers."
The Local Fare forum kicked off on July 26 and will run through August 6 on RangeMe, an online product discovery and sourcing platform. The participating store locations will carefully consider multiple factors such as providing the most relevant product assortment for each store's local communities.
According to Stater Bros., Category Managers are seeking the region’s very best offerings in all categories, including a focus on attributes especially important to their shoppers:
- Organic
- Non-GMO
- Plant-based
- Gluten-Free
- Vegan
- Keto
Supplier submissions can be made online and will be reviewed and chosen by the Stater Bros. Category Management team, with those chosen being given product placement free of charge. According to the press release, suppliers who are not selected will still be accessible via RangeMe and may be reviewed by Stater Bros. Category Managers again in the future as business needs evolve.
