SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA - Two newly appointed Vice Presidents are taking their rightful positions under the roof of Superior Grocers. In a recent announcement, the retailer revealed it has promoted Miguel Alarcon to Senior Vice President of Operations and welcomed Tom Finn as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising.

Alarcon has over four decades of experience in the retail industry, having worked his way up from a Courtesy Clerk to a Store Director before joining Superior Grocers in 2016. Previously, he served as the Regional Director of Operations at El Super and the Vice President of Operations at KV Mart.

In his new role, Alarcon will continue to oversee the efficient operations of Superior Grocers and The Market by Superior’s 49 locations, according to a press release.

“We are pleased to promote Miguel Alarcon to Senior Vice President of Operations,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Wardwell. “His leadership and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in our success, and we look forward to his continued contributions.”

Also taking on a new role, Finn brings over 35 years of retail grocery experience to his position.

As the release noted, Finn has dedicated the majority of his career to merchandising, marketing, and enhancing the customer experience. Before joining Superior Grocers, he served as Vice President of Center Store at Northgate Markets and Director of Grocery at Stater Bros. Markets, as well as holding several positions with Food 4 Less and Ralphs.

Wardwell also commented on Finn’s recent appointment.

“We are excited to have Tom Finn join our team and lead our marketing and merchandising efforts,” he said. “His expertise and experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand our offerings and enhance the customer experience.”
