US Foods to Triple Size of Louisiana Distribution Facility
JEFFERSON PARISH, LA - US Foods is looking to expand its presence in the Louisiana market, with officials reporting the food distributor plans to triple the size of its F. Christiana facility in Jefferson Parish, according to a report by The New Orleans Advocate. The expansion will bring the floorplan to 200,000 square feet, boosting the company’s distribution network across the region.
“We are excited to strengthen our presence in Louisiana,” said Keith Knight, South Region President of US Foods. “This expansion will allow us to continue to grow and serve more customers throughout Louisiana.”
US Foods acquired F. Christiana, a distributor of food and food-related products with a 1,800 restaurant, hotel, and convenience store network across Lousisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, in 2017.
Construction is set to begin late this year and will take two years to complete. The expansion will also bring 45 new jobs to the area.
