Brighter Bites Announces Sponsors For SUNSET® Rocks Event
HOUSTON, TX - 2020 marks a year of many firsts across the produce industry. Along with the first-ever virtual PMA Fresh Summit, Brighter Bites will be the first-ever non-profit recipient of the annual SUNSET® Rocks event. Brighter Bites has announced that it has now raised over $130,000 from nine different sponsors across the industry, with Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® and Enza Zaden as the lead sponsors committing funds as well as matching funds for contributions made throughout the online event. Sunkist, EarthFresh, and H-E-B have also pledged to match funds made at this year’s event.
“We are so grateful to these organizations whose contributions will support the Brighter Bites mission,” said Rich Dachman, CEO of Brighter Bites. “I would especially like to thank SUNSET® and Enza Zaden for their extraordinary generosity in selecting Brighter Bites as the beneficiary of its 2020 event, as well as PMA for organizing the three-day virtual convening. Every dollar raised during the event will be matched by the sponsors, and will help so many of our families who are in need right now.”
Additionally, companies like Chelan Fresh, Grimmway Farms, Good Foods, Calavo Foods/ Renaissance Food Group, and New York Apple Sales have committed to sponsoring Brighter Bites at the SUNSET® Rocks event, according to a press release.
This year’s SUNSET® Rocks Virtual Party will be held on Tuesday, October 13, at 7:30pm EST as part of PMA’s annual conference. Front-line workers and sponsors who have played an integral role during the pandemic will be recognized for their dedication to keeping our industry running. The party will feature a surprise recording artist that will perform as part of the celebration. Those in attendance will be provided with the opportunity to make further donations to Brighter Bites throughout the entire three-day summit to help sponsor the work that it does.
