Brighter Bites Launches Pals FUNdraiser; Rich Dachman and Melanie Button Comment
HOUSTON, TX - Through Brighter Bites’ latest fundraiser, the opportunities for giving this holiday season are twofold. In collaboration with Pals Socks, the nonprofit is introducing a fun way to raise awareness and money for its program while consumers shop for gifts for special people in their lives this holiday season.
“We are very excited for the Pals Socks fundraiser. What a fun way to raise awareness and money for our program! Proceeds from our Pals FUNdraiser will go toward providing fresh produce and nutrition education directly into children's hands,” said Rich Dachman, Chief Executive Officer of Brighter Bites.
Proceeds from this Pals FUNdraiser will support Brighter Bites in continuing its mission of fruit and vegetable distribution at local schools in 11 cities, a release explained. This includes schools in Phoenix, Arizona, its most recent city.
Through December 25, Pals Socks will donate $5 for every pair of socks or baby booties sold. Nationally, it costs Brighter Bites $5 to send a family home with 20 pounds of fresh produce. When a pair of socks is purchased, it gives a family a Brighter Bites bag full of fresh fruits and vegetables, and the fun mismatched socks make the perfect holiday gift.
"Our holiday fundraiser with Pals Socks is a great way to give back while holiday shopping. It's incredible to think that each pair of socks purchased provides a family with two weeks’ worth of fresh produce!” added Melanie Button, Special Projects Manager at Brighter Bites.
It's the season of giving, and what is more fulfilling than sharing the joy with your loved ones and someone in need?
