Ganaz Launches Digital Paystubs for MasterCard® Payroll Card; Tiffany Davis Comments
SEATTLE, WA - These days, direct deposits make it easy for us to move on with our day. We know when the funds should arrive, and that peace of mind is extended throughout our lives. Ganaz is ensuring our industry is standing on the same footing as it brings a new feature to its Ganaz MasterCard® Payroll Card: digital paystubs. The feature enables employers and workers in the agriculture and food processing industries to move to a fully digital payday.
K&K Land and Management, an apple, cherry, and pear grower in Washington, recently started delivering its Datatech paystubs electronically to workers via a text message from Ganaz linked to the secured Cardholder Portal—and the company is already seeing the benefits.
“I had been trying to move away from paper checks for years, the hang-up was always getting paystubs to our workers,” said Tiffany Davis, Office Manager at K&K Land and Management. “Having the ability to send digital paystubs has saved me HOURS worth of work, money on checks, ink, and support staff to stuff checks/paystubs and hand them out. Moving away from paper checks ensures the correct employee receives their money and paystub without having to dedicate hours of work to it. It also alleviates the rush at the end of harvest to get checks to [H-2A] workers before they head home.”
In its release, Ganaz noted agriculture and food processing are some of the last industries to move away from paying people with paper checks and printed paystubs. Many workers are still unbanked, making 100 percent direct deposit hard to implement. Payroll cards allow farmworkers to receive their pay electronically without setting up a bank account while saving employers the money, time, and resources needed to process and distribute traditional paper paychecks to multiple farm locations.
Ganaz customers avoid one more hurdle with the rollout of digital paystubs by not having to create emails or download a mobile app.
Along with text message notifications for payday and card transactions, workers will receive secured links to their Cardholder portal, with easy and instant access to all paystubs associated with their payroll card deposits.
How will we see our industry continue to embrace technology? Stick around as we keep an eye on the wire.
